I am a skilled
editor with over 15 years of experience in content, line, and copy editing and
proofreading. I have worked in web management and can conduct website audits,
improve web copy, and support search engine optimization. With a bachelor’s degree in
writing and an MFA in graphic design, I also am available for
book design and layout, making me a “soup to nuts” operation for those who
lack the support of a large publishing house. 


Recent editing work includes
various master’s theses, a technical report on mass violence in the United
States, survey reports for a Boston-based
think tank, and a Japanese graphic
design history book for a professor at Temple University in Tokyo.
My editorial philosophy focuses on appreciating and editing for the rhythm of the language. Editing involves accuracy, sure, but it also demands connection, flow, and music. Each sentence should travel easily to the next. And, yeah, the commas should be in the right places.&#38;nbsp;While I adore the Chicago
Manual of Style, I am comfortable in AP, APA, MLA, and others. Whatever your
preferred style guide, I’ll make your writing shine.

“Self-care Quilt” (2020)&#38;nbsp;
It started with knitting. A few years before my mom died, my best friend Elizabeth came home from college and taught me how to knit. The utter obsession with textile-based making didn’t kick in right away, but later, after my mother died, I latched onto fabric like burdock to a sheepdog’s fur. Knitting has wound its way into every area of my life, including my graphic design work.&#38;nbsp;
Over the years, I’ve braided in embroidery, sewing, crochet, weaving, spinning, appliqué, and every other form I can get my fingers on.&#38;nbsp;
If you need just the right thing to keep you warm in the winter or make you look even more gorgeous, I take commissions, as well as having a backlog of finished projects awaiting homes. &#38;nbsp;

Unfinished: Communicating Grief and Healing Through Handmade TextilesMy Master of Fine Arts thesis book documented my research into the historical and contemporary work that links grief, healing, textiles, and design, and thereby emphasizes the value of sharing space for quiet creation and community among those who have experienced grief similar to my own. These connections allow room for the unfinished and imperfect, and they expand the materials and techniques we think of as graphic design.
Along with Olivia Schneider, another member of my graduating class at Vermont College of Fine Arts, I designed a website showcasing all eight graduates’ work and collaboration, called What Might Be. Pop over to my thesis page for more information on my MFA work.&#38;nbsp;

From 2017-2019, and again since 2023, I’ve been a member of Nowhere Washington, a five-piece pop-rock-reggae-punk-Americana mashup group that makes people want to dance.&#38;nbsp;

I’ve also performed as a solo artist and as a guest with Western Terrestrials, Jay Ekis, Dan Zura, Rye Dog, Robin Gottfried, and others. I’ve sung jazz, folk, rock, punk, and alt-country. In addition to my originals, I’ve covered Neko Case, Talking Heads, Centro-matic, Paul Simon, Big Star, and many others.&#38;nbsp;
If I could go back in time and have my dream job, I’d be a Pip.&#38;nbsp;

In March 2020, like many people, I became a fully remote office worker. Unlike some people, I was in bliss. It allowed me to hunker down in my little house from 1908, snuggle with my dogs, and think. In June 2021, that thinking led me to sell my house, buy a camper, and hit the road full time. I still had to work, but if I could do it from anywhere, why not do it from anywhere? For the next two years, I traveled all over the United States with my two (and eventually three) dogs, and I documented the first year of the trip on a travel blog,&#38;nbsp;Angela’s “World” Tour 21–22. 		<description>Angela Paladino (she/her) is a full-time editor, as well as a fiber artist, musician, and graphic designer. Her visual work has been shown in exhibitions at Studio Place Arts, Vermont College of Fine Arts, the Fletcher Free Library, and elsewhere. She has performed in Vermont, Massachusetts, Maryland, Florida, and beyond, and is one-fifth of the indie rock band Anachronist and the pop-rock band Nowhere Washington.&#38;nbsp;
Angela lives with her partner and their six dogs and six birds in the boondocks of Vermont, where she spends a lot of her time making textile-based art and design (knitting, crocheting, weaving, sewing, embroidering…), doing freelance editing and graphic design, riding her bicycle, reading books, and hiking with the dogs.
